CASE STUDY: Leading Energy Consultancy

Scope

We were asked to design and build an ETRM system, which required certain functionality.

Challenge

The challenge was that the system required a number of key features, including: real time data processing from a variety of sources including leading exchanges; real time costing of market positions whereby alerts were flagged via screen, email, SMS and custom endpoints; advanced visualisation and charting components with technical and statistical analysis; conversion of all pricing information to common formats for comparison or analytics.

There was an additional challenge whereby we needed to show proof of concept to show the ability to extend the project to calculate fully delivered rates from wholesale rates.

Outcome

Following client interactive workshops, sprint planning and using Agile processes, our team successful built a platform whereby our client was able to use the system to successfully manage over £2 billion of procured energy, it allowed the business to keep the team at the same size but double the amount of energy procured and it gave our client the reporting backbone to integrate into a CRM system.
