We're talking to Cornwall's business leaders to understand the impact of the pandemic across various industries, and what we can learn from them.
Everest’s Ellen recognised as one of Cornwall’s leading women in tech
We're proud to see our Head of Service Delivery receive great recognition for her work within Cornwall’s tech sector.
Ellen Rogers has been included in Cornwall Trade and Investment’s recent article ‘Meet 20 women leading the way in Cornwall’s tech sector’.
Joining our digital agency in Cornwall last year, Ellen arrived with more than a decade of high-end understanding in strategy, tech and digital communications.
No.10 Downing Street, NATO, The Royal Navy and RAF, and British Airways are just a few of her previous clients. Her experience is something we are grateful for every day as the Everest Story keeps developing.
It’s not just Team Everest that appreciate Ellen’s work…
Cornwall Trade and Investment published its ‘Meet 20’ list on June 25. There are so many great female professionals included, from an array of tech backgrounds.
The list has enjoyed a positive response on social media and provided a great way to canvass Cornwall’s digital talent.
"From VR and AR games to embedded software and innovations in health technology, Cornwall’s tech sector is buzzing – and women are behind many of the developments,” read the article introduction.
“As we’re exhibiting at the UK’s Women in Technology conference, we’d like to shine a light on 20 women whose ideas, initiatives and drive are helping to make Cornwall one of the fastest-growing tech hubs in the UK.
“Read about their contributions, their achievements, and why they think Cornwall is such a special place to work.”
‘It’s my job, and my passion, to ensure success’ – Ellen Rogers, Everest Media.
“I’m so humbled to be part of a formidable network of women within Cornwall’s tech sector,” said Ellen. “It’s thriving!”
Ellen oversees Everest Media’s portfolio of project deliveries as well as its developers, digital strategists, web ops, copywriters, technical leads, SEO performance team and social delivery teams.
“It is my job, and my passion, to ensure that every project is a success,” says Ellen. “That’s for the client and for the business, and that we have a solid, happy, growing team of specialists proud of the work that they deliver.”
When asked what recent achievement she was proud of, Ellen told Cornwall Trade and Investment that her appointment had created a 50/50 gender ratio on the Senior Management team.
Ellen believes it has created “a balance and drive that’s exciting to be a part of”. She added: “Within my team, and wider afield, I’m passionate about mentoring female talent, enabling skills, confidence and knowledge-sharing to grow the next phase of women in leadership positions within the tech industry.
“There are fantastic opportunities in Cornwall, and we need to ensure that young (especially female) talent has access to these opportunities post grad/college and that they thrive within our tech space rather than seeking roles further afield.”
Just a flavor of what Ellen has brought to Everest
Our Head of Service Delivery believes that small businesses in the South West should not be deterred from competing at a national level.
Government and public sector contact opportunities can often be a daunting prospect, she said.
Everest Media's Head of Service Delivery, Ellen Rogers, speaking with Women in Tech attendees last month.
My ten plus years' experience in this sector led Everest Media to identify, apply and be successfully named as a supplier on the Crown Commercial Services Digital Outcomes and Specialists 3 Framework, supplying software development and digital services to the public sector.
She added: As part of this framework, one project we are currently delivering is a web transformation project for a housing provider in the North East under a two year contract.
Frameworks like this open up opportunities and relationships with buyers nationwide that would otherwise have been difficult to establish.
Meanwhile, Everest Media has been delighted to announce that its application to join the G-Cloud 11 framework has also been successful. This framework is an agreement between the government and suppliers who provide cloud-based services.
Everest Media's cloud hosting and software services will now be available to a range of buyers using this popular and well-regarded framework.
