At Everest Media having a close, bonded team is very important to us. We passionately believe that great staff morale is vital for business success. It’s a huge part of our core values.

Without being proud of our ‘Team Everest’ ethos we would be like bread without yeast – flat. You’ll see where we’re going with that one in a second..

When we’re not producing digital excellence, we are always keen to spend quality time with each other, within more relaxed settings. Whether that be our regular Friday saunter to the pub or an impromptu game of pool between tasks, we champion the importance of balancing business with pleasure.

Settings perhaps don’t come more relaxed than Coombeshead Farm, found just outside the village of Lewannick, near Launceston. Chefs Tom Adams and April Bloomfield have transformed it into so much more than just a farm. It is now one of Cornwall’s most renowned culinary gems.

Coombeshead - which also comprises of a five-bed guesthouse, restaurant and bakery - is found nestled within 66 acres of meadows, woodland and oak-lined streams. The bakery is headed up by the super-talented Ben Glazer, an 'inventive British baker blazing a trail for better bread' according to Great British Food.

So, there could be no better place for Team Everest to choose as their latest Staff Away Day destination! We spent the day there on Friday January 11 to take part in a special Bread Workshop – and we loved every minute of it. If you don't mind food envy, have a click through our photo gallery above!

"It was a perfect day!"

“It was so great for us all to spend a day away from the office in the beautiful surroundings of Coombeshead Farm,” said Sam Armondi, MD. “The farm really is such a special place and we are great fans of their talented team's work.

“We all enjoyed some well-deserved down time; learning the trade secrets as well as having a tasty lunch. A walk around the farm after lunch was a brilliant way to walk off all the yummy food too.

“Thanks to everyone at Coombeshead for making us feel so welcome, it was a perfect day!”

With Ben as our guide, a range of breads were covered. We were taken through the complete process - from maintaining our sourdough starter to proving, shaping and baking our loaves. All were delighted to leave with the fruits of our day’s labour. There is certainly no shortage of bread in our homes now!

Ever competitive, we asked Ben to add a competitive element to the workshop. The honour of being ‘Star Baker’ went to our Head of Commercial Development, Ellen Rogers, who left with some tasty goodies as well as the bragging rights.

She added: "It was a hotly contested award, we're a bit of a competitive bunch. But all bets were off with the buns, after deliberation from our Master Baker Ben I was thrilled to be crowned star baker!"

"It capped off a brilliant day of fun at the farm which was enjoyed by one and all!"

Fortunately, our digital services are much more proven than our bread! Take a look at the ways that we can transform your online presence and become your digital success partner.
